Lifting machines are those machines that are used to lift loads. Power (or effort) is applied to one area of the machine and the weight (or load) is lifted to another point of the machine.
Lifting material is any equipment for lifting and lowering loads, and includes any accessories used for that purpose (such as attachments to support, repair or stabilize equipment).
Lifting accessories
Lifting accessories pieces of equipment used to attach the load to the lifting machines, which provide a link between the two. Any lifting accessories used between the lift and load equipment may need to be considered in determining the total weight of the load.
The load
The load includes any material, human or animal (or any combination of these) that is lifted by lifting objects. Loads are usually provided with fixed points or attachments or attachments for lifting. In many cases, these are considered part of the burden.
